10TH MOUNTAIN DIVISION IMPRESSION GUIDELINES
The basic from 36th division to 10th Mountain division is as follows:
M1 HELMET (bare helmet no net or mesh) JEEP CAP M1936 WOOL SHIRT M1936 WOOL TROUSERS M1943 JACKET M1938 LEGGINGS ROUGHOUT/ TYPE II SERVICE SHOES M1928 CARTRIDGE BELT WITH BAYONET AND SHOVEL ATTACHED (Lose the haversack) To upgrade this impression slightly: M1943 TROUSERS (instead of the M1936 wool trousers) REVERSIBLE SKI PARKA (instead of the M1943 jacket) SWEATER VEST or 5 BUTTON SWEATER (instead of the M1943 jacket) M1943 DOUBLE BUCKLE BOOTS (instead of the leggings and low boots) SHOEPACS (instead of leggings and low boots) M1936 SUSPENDERS MUSETTE BAG PACK BOARD The preferred 10TH mountain division look for those who want to go all the way: M1 HELMET (bare helmet no net or mesh) MOUNTAIN TROOP SKI CAP (either version) M1936 WOOL SHIRT MOUNTAIN TROOP TROUSERS (everyone should try to at least get this one item as it makes your impression a lot better to wear the mountain troop trousers and the m1936 wool shirt) MOUNTAIN TROOP JACKET M1943 DOUBLE BUCKLE BOOTS or SHOEPACS M1928 CARTRIDGE BELT M1936 SUSPENDERS MOUNTAIN TROOP RUCKSACK The combination of items from the preferred look and the basic look is ok and highly suggested. You can take this impression as far as you want, or as far as you can find gear. Like any U.S. unit they were not all dressed exactly the same, but the more you can put into the impression the better it will be. Just a small change like the mountain trousers will go a long way to making the impression look better. |
